Kids love to see animals, and luckily, zoos have been changing, giving more and more attention to the well-being of animals and designing larger and more natural habitats. Many "new zoos" have also repositioned themselves as centers for education and conservation. All of which makes zoos much better places to visit with kids. Meanwhile aquariums continue to be great places for family sightseeing, especially on a day when the weather is hot (or cold) outside.
San Diego Safari Park
This San Diego Zoo was one of the first to provide larger habitats for animals. This organization now has two parts, the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research at its downtown location, and the San Diego Safari Park which offers large-scale animal habitats.
Disney's Animal Kingdom
It's possible to some great habitats, with deep pockets like Disney's. This giant theme park offers some excellent opportunities to see animals. Visitors will probably see tigers taking a swim in their pool.
Miami Metrozoo
This 300-acre zoo, surprisingly close to Miami's urban centers, has been a pioneer in the "cageless zoo" concept.
Siingapore Zoo
Cages are almost nonexistent at the "open zoo" concept Singapore Zoo.
