Canada's a huge country, and much of it's covered in snow in winter. (Not coastal BC, however, where the climate's mild; you rarely need snow-boots in Vancouver BC though you can drive up to ski slopes in twenty minutes.) Below are some ideas for enjoying Canada in winter.
  • Snow Vacations in Canada - it's a huge country, and there's winter snow in most of it! Whistler BC and Mont Tremblant Quebec are only two of many choices
  • Banff, Alberta: lots of lodging options in the small town of Banff, within Banff National Park; and three ski resorts nearby
  • Dog-Sledding: so much fun. See photos and read about a dog-sledding excursion near Banff.
  • Ice Hotel- Lapland, Sweden has one every year, and so does Quebec, Canada. See many pix of Quebec's Ice Hotel (but don't forget: each ice hotel gets completely rebuilt every year.)
  • Quebec City Carnival - ice palace, snow sculptures, music, and a chance to explore this charming city. Approx. the first two weeks in February.
