Utah -- between Nevada and Colorado-- is a wonderful destination for family skiing, thanks to:

• Great snow: Utah is know for dry, light "champagne powder"
• Fast access to the slopes: dozens of cities have direct flights to Salt Lake City, and from there seven very different ski resorts are less than 40 miles away.
