Canada for family holidays

Canada, of course, is where the Loyalists went, and where High Tea is still served at certain establishments -- such as the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria.

Canada has some exciting cities to visit, and also some stupendous natural attractions. BC bills itself as "Super Natural", and has the scenery to prove it: the Rockies on the east side, Cariboo country -- home to dude ranches-- in the middle; and Vancouver's sparkling setting with mountains by the sea.

The Banff-Lake Louise area -- in a large National Park right in the the Canadian Rockies -- is popular with visitors from the UK: stunning scenery, great hiking, classic hotels, music festivals.

On the city side: Toronto is a dynamic city, with much cultural life; Montreal or Quebec city offer a chance to visit a French-speaking culture in North America (-don't worry, those in the tourist industry can speak English, too.) And much, much more...
