Hershey PA is a favorite family holiday destination in Pennsylvania (PA), 3 hours drive from New York City, 2 hours from Philadelphia, and just 15 minutes from an international airport at Harrisburg. Amish country is nearby.
Hershey is an actual town -- aka "Chocolatetown USA"-- built by chocolate tycoon Milton Hershey to house his employees. Hershey also built an amusement park for his workers: this has evolved into the present-day Hershey Park theme park, with roller coasters and other rides, open during summertime and also for Halloween and Christmas Candylane.
Guests can stay at the classic-style Hotel Hershey, which has a kids' club, and a spa with chocolate-themed treatments. Also great for families is Hershey Lodge, a sprawling and kid-friendly place, with complimentary family activities.
Also in the picture is Hershey's Chocolate World, a visitor's center with free activities including a fun "Factory Tour", and a (paid-admission) Really Big 3-D Show, plus thousands of treats for sale. In summer, Hershey Gardens are in bloom by the Hotel Hershey, and both Hotel and Lodge have an outdoor pool.
