In a class of its own, this larger-than-life resort in the Bahamas offers so much to do on-property that its beautiful beach is just a small part of its appeal.

The Atlantis has many grown-up pleasures, including a casino, nightlife at the Marina Village, giant yachts to ogle, and frequent concerts by high-powered entertainment. But the Atlantis also welcomes families with a host of features. To name a few:
  • Wow-factor waterslides in the Aquaventure water park. (For instance, the Mayan Temple has a 60-foot drop down to a clear tunnel inside the shark lagoon, and "The Abyss" has a near-vertical 50-feet drop through darkness.)
  • The River Loop river-float, with lifts and drops, white-water rapids, and 80-foot underground tunnel and caves
  • Ripples Kids' Pool with waterslides, waterfalls, and ample room for loungers for parents
  • Splashers Water Play Zone for little kids
  • "Atlantis Kids Adventures" giant kids club designed in partnership with the LEGO toy company, with a performance area and sound booth, a kids culinary program, a LEGO Mindstorm interactive play area, and more
  • Club Rush lounge for tweens and young teens
  • CRUSH Club for teens
Note that The Atlantis is not an all inclusive resort, and expect food to be expensive, though families can find Starbucks and several family-friendly brand restaurants in the Marina Village area. Lodgings options are many and include luxury, casual, and villas with kitchens. Tip: guests staying at the adjacent (and less expensive) Comfort Suites have access to the Atlantis Resort's facilities.
