New York City: Thanksgiving Macy's Parade
New York City is the venue for one the most famous Thanksgiving events, the annual Macy's Parade. Thanksgiving 2011 will be the 85th year for this tradition, which was started in the 1920's by immigrant employees of Macy's department store who wanted a festival. About's Guide for NYC for Visitors tells you how to get the best viewing spot for the parade. (For interesting old photos, see NYCTourist.)

New York City: Thanksgiving Dinners
Parade-goers will want a turkey feast, afterwards: About's Guide for NYC for Visitors lists many dinners that offer kids' prices.

New York State: Otesaga Resort Hotel
This grand lakeside hotel is walking distance from historic Cooperstown (home of the Baseball Hall of Fame). For Thanksgiving, the Otesaga typically has a Weekend Package for two nights including dinners and breakfasts, Manager's Reception, live entertainment, and family activities throughout the weekend (such as holiday movies, hay rides, tours of Cooperstown, bingo...)

New York State - Rocking Horse Ranch, Thanksgiving Weekend
