Also in Texas: the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa is a 405-acre ranch-style property just 30 minutes from downtown Austin, and only 13 miles from the Austin-Bergstrom Airport. Location is on the Colorado River, and the resort is also near the historic town of Bastrop Texas.

This is a family-friendly resort (dog-friendly, too) with plenty of outdoors activities, a great pool with waterpark features, and evenings by the firepit with s'mores. Thanksgiving fun include a buffet feast and a Breakfast with Santa; horse-drawn wagon rides; visits with alpacas, donkeys, and Texas longhorns; and activities such as three-legged Turkey Trot, a kiddie train, a caricature artist, crafts, and more.

Packages available over the holidays include Family Stay More, Play More, which gives guests increasing amounts of resort credits the longer they stay. For example, a stay of two nights gives a resort credit of $100, and a stay of five nights gives a credit of $500. Guests also receive two bottomless beverage cups. Resort credit can be used for dining or for recreation such as horseback riding, kayaking, rafting, zip-lining...in addition to golf and spa.
