Two hours from Orlando, the St. Pete/Clearwater area has 35 miles of shoreline, southwest of Tampa. The area offers great beaches and many fun activities for families. For example:
- daily Sunset Festival at Pier 60
- outings on the water: pirate cruise, dolphin tour, shelling trip
- Turtle Walks on the beach with a marine biologist
- a visit to Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary (right)
- sponge diving tour in the Greek-influenced community of Tarpon Springs
- far-out visions at the Salvador Dali Museum; special tour for kids.
- Busch Gardens Tampa Bay theme park
