LEGOLAND California-- in Carlsbad, one hour south of Anaheim/ Disneyland, or half an hour north of San Diego-- has been picked by Forbes as "one of the best theme parks in the world", and is both a 128-acre shrine to Lego blocks and a theme park with over 50 rides and attractions.
Designed as a "country just for kids" aged two to twelve, LEGOLAND has rides including a Dragon roller coaster, and mini-lands such as Ancient Egypt made from some of park's 30 million Lego blocks. LEGOLAND has special attractions for 2-year-olds 3-5 year-olds (such as Volvo Jr. Driving School), 6-13-year-olds, and rides for the whole family.
LEGOLAND California is constantly adding new attractions; also the SEA LIFE Aquarium is adjacent to the theme park, and guests can buy a ticket with admission to both attractions.
LEGOLAND California is not the world's only land of LEGO: the original is in Denmark, the birthplace of the toy building blocks. Families can also visit Legoland Windsor and a Legoland in Germany.
