Here's an easy way to thumb your nose at nasty weather, if you can't fly to the tropics this spring break: make a getaway to a resort with its own interior tropical climate, i.e. an indoor waterpark. They're bustin' out all over...
Wisconsin Dells is still the indoor water park capital of the world, but some of its major players -- especially Great Wolf Lodge, and also Kalahari Resort-- are building more waterpark resorts in other cities every year.
Great Wolf Lodge Poconos is just one of a half-dozen new and newish Great Wolf Lodge properties, each with signature indoor waterparks and other entertainment. It's grand opening made a splash because of its location near major cities in the northeast.
Likewise, Six Flags Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark made waves as the first indoor water park resort in New York state.
Meanwhile, Sandusky Ohio -- a hotspot in summer because of 'coasters at Cedar Point amusement park-- now has a cluster of indoor water park resorts.
Minnesota is getting into the act, too: with several resorts with mid-sized water parks.
