They say "Everybody's Irish" on March 17th, meaning that St. Patrick's Day celebrations are open to all. If March 17th falls during the week of your child's spring break, St. Patrick's Day can be an opportunity for some extra fun during a visit to, say, New York City or Boston, both of which have parades and festivities.

Families can also enjoy St. Paddy's Day in some less expected places-- such as Phoenix, Arizona, where a big parade attracts over 50,000 spectators. Or the tiny Caribbean island of Montserrat, where, due to some twists of history, St. Patrick's Day is a national holiday.
