In Lafayette, a free music festival takes over the whole town. Tots in strollers are just part of the all-ages crowds that wander from one venue to another, welcoming performers from around the world. Dates are approximately the third week in April.
Just a few days later comes the first weekend of New Orleans' famous Jazz Fest, with a truly staggering list of talent on multiple stages. Jazz Fest is totally family-friendly; there's even a Kids' Tent with its own little stage.
