--Summer Vacation Ideas
Single parent travelers face two kinds of issues when traveling:
- how will a vacation be priced, especially if kids' rates are tied to the rates of two paying adults?
- And how comfortable will a parent feel, if most other guests are two-parent families?
Single Parent Travel aims to solve both problems at once. The company works with resorts to get price breaks for special trips; those who sign up will enjoy the congenial company of other single parent travelers.
For example: an annual Single Parents' Week at Beaches Boscobel (above), in August (which is also Single Parents Month at Boscobel). Rocking Horse Ranch, in New York State, has also been a destination year after year. Other choices are offered too.
Single Parent Travel was begun by veteran traveler Brenda Elwell, author of the Single Parent Travel Handbook.
The clientele of Single Parent Tours, by the way, encompasses any adult traveling alone with kids: a single parent, a grandparent, auntie-- whatever.
