All-inclusive Allegro Resorts are part of the giant Occidental chain.
The 300-room Allegro Playacar by Occidental is a 20 minute walk-- 5 minute taxi ride -- from busy tourist town Playa del Carmen, with plenty of shops, restaurants, etc. The resort is also near Xcaret, a well executed "eco-theme" park; see more below.
The Allegro Playacar by Occidental was renovated in 2003 and has thatch-roofed villas and tropical gardens. Note: the beach area was eroded during hurricane season 2004; check website or visitors comments for updates about repairs.
The Allegro Playacar by Occidental has all the expected features of an all-inclusive in Mexico:
- Kid's Club for ages 4 to 12.

- babysitting available ($10/hr./child)
- kids enjoy walking in the tropical grounds and seeing iguanas, lizards, etc.
