Playacar Palace: background
The Playacar Palace opened in December 2005, in the Playacar Hotel Zone of Playa del Carmen, 45 minutes south of the Cancun airport and in the Riviera Maya. This area offers Mayan ruins, snorkeling lagoons, coral reef, and unique eco-theme parks such as Xcaret and Xel-ha. (Read more about the Riviera Maya.)
There are nine (and counting) Palace properties in Cancun and the Mayan Riviera.
Features of Playacar Palace:
- 209 rooms, all with double Jacuzzis, balcony and 24 hour room service
- pool with a swim up bar
- Italian and Asian a la carte restaurants
- evening theme parties and shows
- kids' club for ages 4 to 12, with sports, board games, contests, crafts, movies, and video games
- spa and golf available
"Stay at one, enjoy all" policy: guest can "play" -- i.e. make day-visits-- at select Palace Resorts
- Palace Passport promotion: guests can take unlimited select excursions, such as outings to Mayan ruins at Tulum, Chichen-Itza, or Coba; or outings to Isla Mujeres or the Wetn Wild/Parque Nizuc Waterpark; or a Sail & Snorkel.
