The pause that refreshes: allow lots of time for rests, when you're strolling along the Seine with kids. A lower walkway-- visible across the river-- is also a stroll-able.
The Seine is crossed by numerous bridges, some with a fascinating history. Bring a guidebook, bring snacks; let the kids have a rest and a munch, while you read out loud bits of background about where you are.
Be sure to read Ludwig Bemelmans' delightful rhyming Madelinebooks with your kids, before a trip to Paris: for example, in Madeline's Rescue, spirited little Madeline falls off a bridge into the Seine, and is rescued by a pooch.
