Paris sightseeing: The Seine

That's Notre Dame Cathedral, in the background: no part of Paris is farther than six miles from the square in front of Notre-Dame.

Older kids can walk easily from Notre Dame to the Louvre, and with snacks and rests and good weather, you might attempt the outing with younger ones too.

Bringing this scooter, by the way, was a brilliant idea...

My three kids shared it (yes, really) and it vastly increased their willingness to go for long walks. Scooters fold down to a size that can be packed in a bag.
