Orlando is the most popular destination for families during Spring Break-- so it's fortunate indeed that dates for Spring Break vary in different parts of the US and Canada. Just imagine what line-ups would be like at Disney World, if every school, everywhere, closed its doors the same week!
Typically, Spring Break means ten days off school, in mid-March to mid-April.

At Disney World, the Epcot theme park has its annual Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, with many amusing topiary figures of Disney characters, programs for grown-up and kid gardeners, and free outdoor Flower Power concerts. The Festival has a long run, from March 18 through May 31, 2009.
Over at Universal Orlando, the Universal Studios theme park has Mardi Gras Weekends with big parade on Saturday night, street performers, Cajun cuisine, free concerts. Expect party-ers, but plenty of families in attendance too.
Both these events are free with regular ticket purchase, and both offer a great chance to see music by well-known bands. For example: 2009 line-up for Mardi Gras weekends includes: The Village People, Pat Benatar, Barenaked Ladies, Kelly Clarkson, and more. And in addition to these "headliners" performing on the Main Stage, New Orleans bands perform in the French Quarter.
Meanwhile, the Flower Power concerts at Epcot highlight top acts of the Sixties and Seventies, such as Paul Revere and the Raiders, Herman's Hermits, Chubby Checker, Jose Feliciano, and more.
