Old Sturbridge Village is a "living history" attraction, bringing bygone days back to life with authentic buildings plus "re-enactors" who impersonate characters from New England circa 1790 to 1840.

Location is in Sturbridge in the center of Massachussetts. Driving time is 1 hour from Boston, 45 minutes from Hartford, 3 hours from NYC. The real-life town of Sturbridge combines high tech industry and quaint B&B's.

Old Sturbridge Village - features:

  • Forty original buildings were moved to the site to create the setting
  • Guests can explore a meetinghouse, tin shop, blacksmith shop, town parsonage, working gristmill, country store, and more
  • costumed interpreters re-enact daily life of the time, and also stage daily events
  • daily events might include Songs and Stories of Long Ago, at the Parsonage Barn; Meet the Animals; Gristmill demonstration; musket firing; join an 1830s Base Ball Game; Toy Fire Balloon Fight.

  • Sturbridge Village has Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas programs
