Top Things to do in New York City with Teens

 Central Park

Just one small corner of Central Park's magnificent 843-acre spread.

After you visit the Natural History Museum, take some time to walk through Central Park.

Everyone's seen parts of Central Park in movies, but you'll be amazed at its vastness of this beautiful green park right the midst of the throbbing city. How did it get there, and how did it stay protected? Read some interesting history at the Centra Park Conservancy site, which also features many seasonal events for kids and families.

Central Park has many distinct areas: About.com's Guide for New York City for Visitors has visitor tips, photos, subway info, and more.

One spot your teen might like is easily reached if you walk south from the Natural History Museum along the park: Strawberry Fields, an understated memorial to John Lennon, is at 72nd St., near the Dakota apartments where John Lennon lived with Yoko Ono before he was killed.

If you want to explore Central Park in more depth, try one of the free walking tours, offered year-round.
