Paradisus Resorts is a brand of the worldwide Sol Melia chain, based in Spain. The Paradisus Riviera Cancun is 30 minutes south of Cancun-- 15 minutes from Cancun's International Airport-- on the Riviera Maya.

This property has 14 three-story bungalows with 500 suites measuring 500 sq. ft., with private terrace. 96 Superior Suites have private Jacuzzi and balcony overlooking the ocean.

    • according to its web site, the Paradisus has a kids' club for babies and preschoolers. "Club 4" takes children 2 months to 4 years old, 9 to 5. Baby-care takes only 6 babies per care provider, so plan ahead.
    • Babysitting is available, but at relatively high cost
    • Mini Club is for children 5 - 12, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Keep in mind about the Paradisus:
    • guests report that the pools are unheated and the water cold
    • find out for certain that baby-care is offered during your stay
  • at times the sea is blue and clear; other times, it has sea-grass
  • get up early to nab a spot at the beach or pool
  • sign up early for dinner reservations at the specialty restaurants (-- men must wear long pants and no sandals.)
