Dreams Los Cabos Resort and Spa
The bummer of the trip for me was that the Ocean was too dangerous to swim in at the resort because of the riptide. The beach is actually pebbles and little rocks, which is not to great to walk or lay on. My best friend and I did get in the ocean a couple times, but we were very careful and wouldn't suggest it to anyone who doesn't have experience with these conditions. We did make a day trip by bus ($1 each way) into Cabo to swim at the beach there. The
hostility by the wait staff. We finally called the front desk and asked point blank "are tips included in the all inclusive or not" (tips are not mentioned anywhere in their brochures)? Their response was that it was up to our discretion- well that helped. Obviously they don't share these "inclusive tips" with the staff, so my advice- if you don't want to feel like a parriah take a lot of George Washingtons (American money seems to be favored).
Another "interesting" aspect of our stay was the daily rush for lounge chairs and pool floats. Every morning starting at about 6:30am the race is on to grab beach towels and pool floats and capture the prime lounge chairs with umbrellas around the big pool. Plunk your towels and maybe a book down to stake your claim. If you don't score a spot by 8am you are stuck in the hot sun- no umbrella and no floatie
There are three swimming pools, two with swim-up bars, two snack bars, a full-service spa and fitness center, and five outstanding a la carte restaurants plus lounges. Furnished patios and balconies frame breathtaking views of the azure Sea of Cortez and beautiful lush, tropical gardens. Nearby, eight championship golf courses challenge you on magnificent courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, Roy Dye, Tom Weiskopf and Robert Trent Jones Jr. to name a few.
The one thing i did have a problem with was the whole idea of them trying to push the timeshares. This was not just the resort though. So i wouldn't only hold it against them. BEWARE.....as soon as you get off the plane they start approaching you to buy a timeshare. They

You could not swim in the Ocean at the resort, but we didn't care. We took a glass bottom boat tour in Cabo San Lucas and were dropped off at Lovers beach where we swam. The glassbottom boat was a great deal, only $10 each. The sand was really rocky, not nice to walk on, but we did anyways b/c it was fun to watch the waves crash into the shore. We walked 35 mins to the Hilton one day and you could swim in the Ocean there.
participate in any, but observed a few. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Every day there is a list of activities posted in the elevator. There was something for everyone. An adult list and a kids club list. I do know they have an incredible male singer. He was down on
All restaurants that serve lunch are outdoors and run out of shady spots quickly (even after 2pm).
The free shuttle into Cabo San Lucas must be reserved by 6am the same day if you expect to get one of the 8 seats available
Bring 40- 50 one dollar bills so that you can tip waiters/bartenders etc.
although no kids are welcome in the seafood restaurant and the Italian restraurant required my husband to wear long pants (
were strong. Even though we couldn't swim in the ocean, the taxi to Santa Maria beach where the snorkeling was awesome was only $14
Explorers Club for kids- We were concerned that our 8 year-old wouldn't have anything to do. He loved going to the Explorers club. He didn't want to even spend time with us. The have activities all day long and the staff are great with the kids. If you are worried about your kids being bored, they won't be.
cross the street outside of the resort and take the bus that comes by every 15 minutes. It costs $1.50 each way which beats a $25 taxi ride. The buses are clean and air conditioned. Stick with the blue or green city buses. The buses only run until 10PM.
specially because we have one son that is diabetic and this hotel gives you" beepers" that way I could relax not worring about anything all day long.
