All-inclusive resorts in Mexico are a favorite family getaway; some offer a good price point, while others -- especially in the Riviera Maya -- trend upscale to ever-more luxury.

Mexico All-inclusives Resorts in other areas: Avalon Reef Club
The Avalon Reef Club is on its own private islet, with gentle shallow beach, on Isla Mujeres (a 20-minute boat ride from Cancun.) Take short stroll and explore a laid-back little town. Guests at the Reef Club can eat and play at a sister resort in Cancun.

Club Med Ixtapa -
Club Med resorts are known for awesome kids' programs. This resort -- on the west coast of Mexico-- has trapeze, in-line skating, archery, plus the usual land and watersports; also Baby Club Med and Petit Club Med (though you'll have to pay extra for those.)

El Cozumeleno
This all-inclusive Mexico resort is on the island of Cozumel, south of Cancun. Popular with families, El Cozumeleno is just five minutes from the Cozumel airport.

Iberostar Cozumel
he island of Cozumel is off shore from Playa del Carmen, the main town in the Riviera Maya south of Cancun; visitors arrive by air or by 40-minute ferry. The Iberostar Cozumel is on the southwest coast near a bay with reefs.

Melia Azul Ixtapa
Part of the Sol Melia chain, which has a number of all-inclusive Mexico resorts. The Melia Azul Ixtapa has a great pool complex: pools on three levels with waterfalls between; kiddie pool with waterslides, sprayers, & other waterpark features. Kids clubs for ages 2 to 12.

Melia Puerta Vallarta
On the west coast of Mexico, and part of the Sol Melia chain; kids' clubs for ages from babies to teens; older ages have activities such as climbing wall and batting cage.
