Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas - background:

This resort closed in May 2010 and is expected to re-open under the Dolce Hotels and Resorts brand.

Some people think Las Vegas is a fun place to take kids; others find the gambling and other adult entertainment too prominent. The Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas may be the right compromise: a 349-room luxury lakefront resort, just 17 miles from The Strip, but quiet and a world apart.

Guests will find year-round outdoor activities: water sports, stargazing, hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing; 36 holes of golf.

Lake Las Vegas is a 320- acre privately-owned lake with marina, a shopping and dining "village", casino, private residences, and several resort hotels, all designed with Italian influence.

Needless to say, these luxury properties have plenty of amenities. The Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas has a golf course rated #5 in North America (by Conde Nast Traveler), gourmet dining, and a 30,000 sq. ft spa.
