Jamaica welcomes many families at all inclusive resorts; in fact, several properties are specifically for families. Check out some popular choices, below. Keep in mind that staying at a property in Negril or Ocho Rios means a fairly long ride from the Montego Bay airport, unless you hop on a local flight.

Beaches is the family resort brand of the Sandals group, and is a big name in all inclusive resorts. Features include kids' programs for different ages, infant care, Sesame Street characters and activities, and gaming centers. The Boscobel resort is on the north coast of the island past Ocho Rios, and has novelty pools, snorkeling, scuba, and (included) golf with special "golf for kids" features. Ocho Rios is a 2-hour drive or a short plane hop from Montego Bay.

As with Beaches Boscobel above, this Beaches resort has outstanding features for families, including a partnership with Sesame Street. Location is prime, with 1000 feet of shore on Negril's legendary seven-mile beach on Jamaica's west coast. Negril has good areas for snorkeling, and the resort has snorkeling boat trips to a coral reef, as well as scuba diving for ages 12 and up. Kids will like the water slides and river pools at this resort.

Also on Negril's 7-mile beach, this resort was a "value" option in the Beaches brand: a smaller property with kids' programs and Sesame Street themed activities, plus guest privileges at the nearby Beaches Negril. As of November 1 2012, this is no longer a Beaches Resort. Reportedly it will reopen as Sandy Bay Beach Resort
and be a family-friendly all inclusive property.
