Atlantis Resort, Bahamas- new waterpark

this slide ends in a clear acrylic tunnel in a shark lagoon.

dateline 11/12/2006

Last but definitely not least is a major expansion of the Atlantis Resort, which already has a 14-acre "waterscape" that includes a number of waterpark features: gigantic slides; kiddie area with slides, fountains, etc.; lazy river; smaller waterslide...

Update: read about the AQUAVENTURE[/linlk] water park: a 63-acre waterscape that redefines the "river float", adds more thrill waterslides, and throws in special effects such as smoke, fire, and fog.

And by the way, the "one of a kind" Atlantis in the Bahamas will be unique no more: Atlantis Dubai is rising, half-way around the globe, in the sleek modern city that Dubai has become. The new [link url=http://travelwithkids.about.com/od/resortswoutdoorwaterpark/a/atlantis_dubai.htm]Atlantis The Palms Dubai will have a 50-acre waterscape, a “Ziggurat” Temple with eight waterslides including a body slide through an acrylic tunnel in a shark lagoon (-already a winner at the Bahamas resort), a 2.8-million gallon Ambassador Lagoon with manta rays and whale sharks, and a river ride system surrounding the temple that will wind for two kilometers.
