Hershey PA is a popular family destination in Pennsylvania (PA), 3 hours drive from New York City, 2 hours from Philadelphia, and just 15 minutes from an international airport at Harrisburg. Amish country is nearby.
Hershey is an actual town -- aka "Chocolatetown USA"-- built by chocolate tycoon Milton Hershey to house his employees. Hershey also built an amusement park: this has evolved into the present-day HersheyPark theme park, with roller coasters and other rides, open during summertime, and for some special seasons (but these don't include Easter 2008.)
Guests in Chocolatetown have two Hershey choices for lodging: the classic-style Hotel Hershey, with kids' club, and a spa with chocolate-themed treatments; and Hershey Lodge, a sprawling and kid-friendly place, with complimentary family activities.
Hershey Lodge has an Easter Package that includes:
- accommodation (and kids stay free in room with paying adults)
- admission to "Springtime in the Park" preview of Hersheypark theme park
- breakfast Saturday morning
- Easter Sunday breakfast brunch
- Admission to Hershey Gardens
- Admission to The Hershey Story: The Museum on Chocolate Avenue
Price for this package for a family of four, per night, is from $699. There'll be an Easter egg hunt as well (on the Saturday).*
