Many guests to Hawaii like to attend a lu'au, which typically combine a big buffet feast plus music and dance performances. Guests at the Hilton Hawaiian Village can do a lu'au right on-site, on the Great Lawn by the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon. Kids can enjoy some activities before dinner, such as a pineapple toss and coconut husking; the fest includes traditional dishes such as kalua pig, poi, and island-style macaroni salad. Then comes an hour-long show with music, dances, fire-knife dance.
