September isn't the end of summer anymore, it's the start of the Fall-Halloween Season.

Fall Foliage Getaways are a wonderful way to get out in the countryside. And during that getaway, visit a Corn Maze. You can find a Corn Maze at hundreds of locations -- pumpkin patches, too.

Halloween Events
But of course the big crescendo leads up to October 31: Halloween's a full-blown holiday season. All through October, find Boos at Zoos, haunted houses, Halloween-themed weekends at country inns, theme park events from Sesame Place Spooktacular to teen Horror Nights.(Hint: book early for Mickey's Party, above.)

Wherever you go, do dress the part! Try some Funny Halloween Costume Ideas. (Baby and Toddler Costumes, too.)

Thanksgiving Getaways
Thanksgiving in the United States is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, which makes the date Thursday November 27th, in 2008.

Thanksgiving turkey dinner is the main event of the weekend, for families; but Thanksgiving also marks the start of the "Holiday Season". At many destinations, Christmas decorations go up; family-friendly resorts often schedule a tree-lighting or Santa preview appearance at the end of Thanksgiving weekends.
