No surprise, New York City has dozens of Halloween Events for families. And October's a beautiful month to visit: good weather for walking and being outdoors, and colorful fall trees in Central Park. (Don't expect bargain hotel rates, though!)

The famous park has lots of activities for Halloween, including Halloween Parade and "Pumpkin Sail" (photo above), pumpkin carving for families, Spooks at Belvedere (-- Belvedere Castle stages some special frights.)
