The TradeWinds Island Grand Resort is one of two TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach on Florida's Gulf Coast. (The other resort is Sandpiper Hotel and Suites.)

The TradeWinds Island Grand is a AAA four-diamond resort with many family-friendly features, including suites with kitchen facilities.

Families like the inflatable slide on the white-sand beach, and the beach cabanas and water-trikes.

The resort has five pools, including a kids pool that's near the Kids' Club. And our favorite feature at the TradeWinds: a meandering river you can navigate by paddleboat.

Sample summer activities: glow-in-the-dark golf and volleyball; dive-in movies; bungee trampoline; the three-story inflatable High Tide Slide on the beach (separate cost); complimentary RedBeard the Pirate Show, twice weekly; Ghost Walking Tour, for ages 12 and up; Pirate Island Family Party; Teens Rule Getaway Party.

Daily Resort Amenities Fee -- which may be included in vacation packages-- includes beach cabana, water trykes and paddleboats, tennis court play, fitness center, day play on mini-golf course and beach volleyball courts, self-parking, wireless internet, portions of kids', pool towels and more.
