Evergreen Lodge -- on the western border of California's Yosemite National Park-- offers Great Outdoors recreation, historic lodge that dates back to the 1920's, cabins and a nifty option called "cushy camping". (Campsite is all set up with tent, airbeds, sleeping bags with liners, pillows, towels, lantern, camping chairs; campers use the Evergreen's bathhouse and can access all facilities and activities.)
Rates for cabins start at $99 and go up to $259 for large family cabins. "Cushy camping" rates run from $50 to $80/night for up to four people (May to October, select dates.)
Recreation includes: GPS/Geocaching Adventure, guided hikes, rafting on the Tuolumne and Merced Rivers. Guests can hike on their own, making use of free handouts, a library of guide books, and complimentary lectures and slide shows by expert guides. Also, guests can rent mountain bikes, mountain strollers, trekking poles, and GPS units.
