Orlando Florida is the world's top vacation spot for families-- an impressive feat, for a landlocked town in the middle of a state famous for beaches. Orlando is a behemoth of theme park fun, with giant Disney World, plus Universal Orlando and other attractions. (See an overview of Orlandofor families). Car rental: Simply Wheelz
For many families, renting a car at the airport is convenient and makes sense compared to taxi or airport shuttle fares.
Major car rental company Hertz has introduced a new service called Simply Wheelz which features: affordable rental, on eight vehicle types; online booking; and self-service rental machines at the airport. (The machine scans a bar code from the printed web reservation.)
Rates start as low as $15 per weekend day.
Kids Eat Free
Once you've got a rental car, you can use those wheels to save on meals. Orlando has dozens of kid-friendly restaurants that cost much less than eating inside theme parks.
Save even more at meal-time with a Kids Eat Free Card: the card costs $15; each card is valid for one child (age 11 or younger); one Free child's meal is offered with the purchase of an adult meal or entree. Over 50 restaurants are participating, including high-octane themed kid-pleasers such as NASCAR Sports Grille.
