Colorado - The Great Outdoors at Ski Resorts

Colorado -- with its Rocky Mountain highs-- is a top state for the Great Outdoors.

Ski resorts work hard to entice visitors in summer months, with a plethora of festivals. Some are adult-oriented (jazz, food, wine, etc.), but you can be sure that the family travel market is always welcome.

For example: Winter Park -- the closest ski resort to Denver-- in summer has mini-golf, human maze, bungee, climbing wall, and Colorado’s longest Alpine Slide: ride a chairlift to mid-mountain, get on a plastic sled with rollers and brakes, and slide 3030 feet down. Plaza Palooza, on select Saturdays, has free live music, face painting, etc.

Look for adventure packages at Winter Park that includes outings such as raft trips, mountain bike rentals (and express lift bike transport pass), all-day park pass for the alpine slide and other fun. See also:
