Visit Europe the really, really easy way...

Long to see Europe with your kids, but scared by the logistics? Well, the logistics could hardly get easier than on a cruise, where your hotel room travels with you, and the same bed, and all your stuff, awaits every night.

Disney Cruises in Europe

Most prominent in the market of family cruises: Disney Cruises started Mediterranean Cruises in 2007, sailing out of Barcelona -- supremely interesting city in northeast Spain-- for 10 and 11-night Mediterranean cruises.

To see if Mickey's doing Europe again, check the Disney Cruise site. You might also want to read more about Disney Cruises; note that kids under 3 sail free, and infant care is offered in Flounder's Nursery, in addition to all the other kids programs. (You do have to pay extra for Flounder's Nursery, though.)

Other Cruise Options in Europe

About.com's Guide for Cruises covers cruising from A to Z, and has an introduction about pros and cons of Cruising in Europe. On the plus side, cruising in Europe can be comfortable, efficient, and economical. On the downside: less time to explore on your own and get those local experiences; and timing, i.e. it's difficult to do air travel plus a cruise in, say, a week-long getaway.

To zero in on cruises in Europe where families are welcome, head to a site like Cruises for Families.

You may want to check out small ship cruises, too.

By the way: don't be shy about visiting Europe with your kids, by any mode or means! Find lots of hints and suggestions for Europe Trips with Kids. A trip needn't break the bank either: budget travel in Europe is perfectly respectable and can be lots of fun.
