New England: Fall Foliage; family resorts

Fall in New England means Foliage: Mother Nature's incredible color show. In Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, peak week is likely to be the last week in September or early in October, according to About.com's Guide for New England Travel, who has a complete guide to leaf-peeping.

Even better, combine your fall-foliage trip with a visit to one of the family resorts in New England that go all out with recreational activities and kids' programs. For example:

Autumnfest at Smuggler's Notch Resort
Fall rates a bargain at top-rated Smuggler's Notch family resort in Vermont, which has many outdoor activities for all ages.

Rocking Horse Ranch
This 500-acre Rocking Horse Ranch, (in NY state, not New England) has an amazing list of activities PLUS an all-inclusive price. (For single parent travelers: Single Parent Tours usually has a trip to the Rocking Horse Ranch in New York state in the fall, with special get-togethers and special rate.)

Lots more Fall Foliage

New England isn't the only place for leaf-peeping. Check out Ohio, the Smokies, the Rockies... click to see more Fall Foliage Vacations ideas.
