Cabarete

Cabarete is a bustling tourist town, and home to many expats who've moved here because of watersports. Walk along the big sweep of the bay, and you'll find a friendly hodge-podge of restaurants and bars that spill onto the sand.

In the daytime, it's fun to watch the kite-boarders: a demanding sport, but if you or your older teens are game, you can take lessons here; Cabarete is known as the world's best spot for kiteboarding.
