Hurricane Season - What's Your Hurricane Risk Tolerance?

By , About.com Guide

Officially, hurricane season runs from June through November; August to October are peak months. Meanwhile, discounts beckon at all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean; the chance of a full-blown hurricane pummeling your little piece of paradise is small; and many resorts offer weather and hurricane guarantees.

So what's your feeling about tropical holidays during official hurricane season?

Quick Poll: What's Your Hurricane Risk Tolerance?

- Count Me Out: not even going near the hurricane zone during peak months

- Ok, I'll go, but carefully: I'll reduce my risk by carefully picking my destination and / or timing, or by doing a cruise.

- Count Me In, But With Insurance: my vacation must have weather guarantees at the resort, or other insurance.

- Don't Worry, Be Happy: I think my odds of enjoying good weather are very good.
