"Beaches" is the family-resort brand of the Sandals chain of all-inclusives, and Beaches Turks & Caicos is one of the most popular properties: it can be fully booked even in summertime.
See an introduction to Beaches Turks and Caicos; photos too. Below, you'll find a hodge-podge of tips from emails, and from visitors' comments posted online.
- Snorkeling: Guests can walk to a place for great snorkeling: facing the water, turn left and walk about ten minutes to organ buoys and a protected reef. Guests report seeing beautiful coral and fish, barracuda, sea turtles, even nurse sharks
- bring your own snorkeling equipment, so you can go snorkeling whenever you want
- Beaches has all-included snorkeling boat trips too; be sure to sign up early
- Diving: Beaches offers all-included diving trips, but all guests need to take a check-dive in the pool, first. This takes place only twice a day, so try to do it immediately on arrival. Also, you need to line up and sign up very early in the morning for the nextday's diving trip. So be sure you get that course done quickly, or you could lose several days before you get to dive!
- Kids Clubs: You need to show a passport or birth certificate when you register your child.
-some guests report kids clubs are more like baby-sitting, i.e. lack of engaging activities. - take the Orientation tour, offered every morning.
- as is common at so many resorts, lounge chairs with shade are hard to get: you'll probably need to get up early and "reserve" by leaving stuff on the chairs.
- bring mosquito spray.
- if your room doesn't have a fridge, just ask for one
