The Sugar Bay Resort and Spa has approximately 300 rooms and suites, each with private balcony, on 7 floors on the east side of St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. The hotel is perched on a hill; three lagoon-style pools are at beach level. (This resort was formerly the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort and Spa.)
For U.S. citizens, no passport is required to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Features for Families:
A major attraction of the Sugar Bay Resort for families is an all inclusive price plan, which is rare in the Virgin Islands; at time of writing, this is the only all inclusive resort on St. Thomas. Price includes meals, snacks, drinks, activities, non-motorized watersports, etc.
The Sugar Bay resort has a kids club (--check if this is half day or full day--) and miniature golf. Non-motorized watersports may include windsurfing, kayaks, snorkeling, sunfish sailboats, and an introduction to scuba diving at the pool.
Keep in Mind:
- Beach is mainly white sand but also has a rocky area (check visitor comments)
- Guests take stairs to the pool/beach, or a shuttle
- Guests can take a water taxi to St. John for the day
