Sandy Lane - Background
It doesn't get more upscale, luxury, or discreetly famous than this: Sandy Lane has been the Caribbean playground of royalty and movie stars; it's the sort of place where guests are met in a BMW, or where someone comes along the beach to clean guests' sunglasses.
Sandy Lane is on the west coast of Barbados (- the "Gold Coast".)
Sandy Lane- For Families
Perhaps surprisingly, Sandy Lane welcomes families. The Tree House Club has activities for kids age 3 to 12, with art and crafts, drama, sports and games, and themed dinners in the Tree House dining room. Kids 13 and older can hang out at a teen center called The Den (that has activities, too.). And there's a "Toddler Corner" for wee kids under three.
Sandy Lane also has family activities, sand toys, board games, puzzles, outdoor games, and seasonal activities too: at Christmas, there's a Caribbean Carnival and Santa arrives on the beach;at Easter, there's egg decorating, Easter Bonnet Parade, and Easter Egg hunt.
Check out the kids' program schedule at the Sandy Lane site, where you can also read about the golf, spa, and 900 sq. ft. rooms with speakers on the verandah etc.
Generally, one child 12 years or younger can stay free in a room with two adults, but during summer months a nightly supplement (-sample, $350) applies. Also, check for packages with 50% discount for an adjoining room for the kids.
