"Dreams Resorts" is a brand of family-friendly all-inclusives with properties in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Dreams is part of AMResorts, which also has the Sunscape (family-friendly) and Secrets (for couples) brands.

Like most all-inclusives, Dreams properties have a kids club: the "Explorer's Club", for kids ages 3 to 12, has both indoor areas (game rooms, giant screens) and outdoor areas with playgrounds and climbing walls. Staff can can contact parents with special buzzers given out as part of the program.

A new Teen Center program aims to add fun for older kids, ages 13 to 17. The first "Core Zone" Teen Center will be at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa. As four new Dreams Resorts open in the Caribbean in 2008 to 2010, each will have a Teen Center.

The Teen Centers will be open from 9am to midnight, and will feature:

  • high-tech games, audio-visual systems, games tables
  • drink and snack machines
  • sports areas such as basketball courts, batting cages, climbing walls, archery range, remote-controlled race tracks, giant chessboards , mechanical bulls, and more.
A trained supervisor will organize flexible activity schedules.

Find out more about:

  • See the Dreams Resorts site
  • go to a site like TripAdvisor and check for comments from families with teens -- and pay attention to the dates of the comments posted. Teens like to meet other teens, and a lot of their satisfaction at a resort will depend on the social scene during their visit, which differs with time of year (i.e. school spring break weeks will be better for meeting other teens.)

This brief profile is meant to introduce this resort to family vacationers; please note that the writer has not visited in person. Always check resort sites for updates.
