Like most all-inclusives, Dreams properties have a kids club: the "Explorer's Club", for kids ages 3 to 12, has both indoor areas (game rooms, giant screens) and outdoor areas with playgrounds and climbing walls. Staff can can contact parents with special buzzers given out as part of the program.
Dreams is also going an extra mile for kids older than 12, who often don't get much special treatment at a resort. "Core Zone" Teen Centers aim to add fun for kids 13 to 17. Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa has a Core Zone, as does Dreams Cancun; new Dreams Resorts in the Caribbean have Core Zones from the get-go, and older resorts may get additions - check with individual resorts.
The Teen Centers will be open from 9am to midnight, and will feature*:
- high-tech games, audio-visual systems, games tables
- drink and snack machines
- sports areas such as basketball courts, batting cages, climbing walls, archery range, remote-controlled race tracks, giant chessboards , mechanical bulls, and more.
Find out more about:
- See the Dreams Resorts site
- go to a site like TripAdvisor and check for comments from families with teens -- and pay attention to the dates of the comments posted. Teens like to meet other teens, and a lot of their satisfaction at a resort will depend on the social scene during their visit, which differs with time of year (i.e. school spring break weeks will be better for meeting other teens.)
