Fairmont is a luxury hotel brand with properties worldwide, and is especially known in Canada for classic hotels such as the Fairmont Banff Springs; Fairmont also has the famous Plaza Hotel in New York City, resorts in popular destinations such as the Mayan Riviera and Maui, and hotels in many cities in the U.S. and around the world.

At all properties, kids five and under eat free from the children's menu, while kids age 6 to 12 eat for half price using the regular menu. Fairmont promotes healthy eating through a Lifestyle Cuisine program.

Families can also choose to stay on the Fairmont Gold concierge level, which offers a private lounge, buffet breakfasts and afternoon snacks in the lounge, and other perks.

Whistler is one of the top ski resorts in the world, and guests staying at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler are just steps from the ski lift that goes up Blackcomb Mountain.

Thanks to major improvements to the Sea to Sky Highway, the drive to Whistler from Vancouver is a pleasure and offers spectacular scenery, first following an inlet with views of the sea and islands, and then moving to the mountains. Driving time from Vancouver is about an hour and a half, two hours from the Vancouver International Airport. Guests can also the take Rocky Mountaineer Train to Whistler at certain times of the year.
