Beach Vacation Idea #3
:Bahamas: Atlantis Resort and Spa
This one-of-a-kind mega-resort --on Paradise Island in the Bahamas-- got even bigger in 2007 with the opening of the 63-acre AQUAVENTURE, which has a Power Tower with four thrill waterslides, and a River Loop that's nearly one mile long, with rapids, underground caves, and a conveyor that takes guests up to the waterslides.
All this adds on to the 34-acre "waterscape" that has shark lagoons, Mayan Temple waterslides, lazy river, fountains, waterfalls, and giant underground aquariums viewed in the subterranean maze "The Dig" (themed as a journey to the lost continent of Atlantis.)
And oh yes-- the Atlantis has beautiful beaches, too.
Special features for families at The Atlantis resort include: "Gentle Travel" for babies; Ripples kids pool; Splashers water play zone; kids' club created with Discovery Channel; and teen entertainment zone.

Beach Vacation idea #4:
Club Med Punta Cana
Over the last few years, the Dominican Republic has been working hard to establish itself as a destination for families, with many all-inclusives being built. One of the most note-worthy is Club Med Punta Cana, which has all the usual perks of a tropical all-inclusive plus some stand-out features: amazing kids programs, including "Petit Club Med" for two year olds, three year olds, etc.; The Ramp, a unique innovation for teens; name-brand activities such as Hip Hop Kidz and Crunch fitness; and a unique ambiance where staff socialize with guests-- works great with kids, who love to be friendly with their kids' club programmers etc.
