A number of companies have stepped up to the plate to make travel with baby easier: all you need to do is get yourself to your destination city, and they'll bring almost everything you can imagine, right to your hotel.

Most of the baby gear rental companies listed are individually owned and pride themselves on the level of service they provide in their local area.
To give a few examples of local-area companies: Breezy Babyprovides equipment rental in the Washington DC. area, and the Santa Barbara Baby Company provides some nice extra touches for its customers such as a kid-friendly guide to Santa Barbara and signature beach ball.
Another option is Baby's Away, which serves over 50 locations in the US.
All these companies typically provide the Big Gear, i.e. cribs, high chairs, strollers, car seats, etc.
