Another venue for Quebec Winter Carnival fun is Place Hydro-Quebec, which has an outdoor skating rink, music stage, and interactive street fun such as stilt walkers. Opening ceremonies take place here.*

Below: Bonhomme takes a turn on the skating rink. Much more than a mascot, Bonhomme ("Good Man") is a beloved figure that personifies Carnival, and though his image is everywhere there is only one life-sized Bonhomme figure, so his appearances always create excitement and photo ops.
