The
Avalon Baccara is a pretty beachfront boutique hotel in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
Clientele is predominantly adults, but families can stay at this property, and
kids can use the Wild Things kids' club at the adjacent Avalon Grand Cancun.
Background on the Avalon Baccara
Avalon Resorts group has five properties that include the Reef Club on Isla Mujeres, the Avalon Grand Cancun next to the Baccara, and the Avalon Grand Panama; a new property with golf course is planned for the Cancun port area.
- The Avalon Baccara has 27 luxury guestrooms and suites; no two are alike. Some have terraces with views of the Caribbean or the Nichupte Lagoon.
- two- and three-bedroom suites have Jacuzzis on their balconies, living rooms, dining rooms, full kitchens with meals prepared on request.
- location is in the heart of the Cancun Hotel Zone, on a 14-mile stretch of Caribbean beach.
-
hand-tiled small swimming pool has waterfall, swim-up bar, lounge-bed
- hotel features include library room, pool table, lobby bar, two restaurants (Avanti, overlooking the ocean, and Boulevard Bistro), water sports on the beach
- spa and Wild Things Kids' Club are available at the adjacent Avalon Cancun Grand
The Baccara has added daily complimentary breakfasts, and nightly tequila tastings with tapas-- check the Avalon Baccara site for updates about these extras.
Keep in mind about the Avalon Baccara:
- clientele is predominantly adults
- this is not an all-inclusive property
- the name is "Baccara" (the name of a black rose), not "Baccarat!"
Outings
- if you want to shop and dine in the Hotel Zone, the Avalon Baccara is well-located.
- to the south, interesting day-trips are possible: Mayan ruins, snorkeling lagoons, eco-parks; read about the Mayan Riviera.
- nearby Isla Mujeres offers Garrafon National Park: part natural park, part tourist attraction, with snorkeling, snuba, sea-trekking, zip line, and restaurants
- Bluewater Adventures (owned by Avalon) offers outings in the Cancun area. On the Jungle Adventure, visitors drive their own speed boat through mangrove forest, led by a guide; then snorkel at a coral reef (with instruction, if needed.) Kids can either drive or sit with an adult. Other Adventures include: glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, catamaran rides, sunset cruise.
