With kids of all ages on board, we embarked not-too-early one morning on a guided
eco-tour with
Island Boat Lines.
From our
open-air boat we saw anhingas and other birdlife, and the "footprints" (ripples
at the water surface) of a couple of manatees.
Kayaking looked like
a fun way to experience the coast. Could be too hot in the daytime for
children, though.
Nature-lovers should also note
that more than 6,000 loggerheads, green seas and leatherbacks
lay eggs on the Space Coast from May to August: seeSea
Turtle Sighting for small-group tours.
