Good Digs for Families

Attractive, and convenient for families: such are the keywords for the hundreds of townhomes for rent in Whistler.
Typically,
your unit will have a living room with gas fireplace, dining area, fully equipped
kitchen (including utensils, toaster, you name it), laundry, downstairs
bathroom, upstairs bathroom, and one or two bedrooms upstairs.
In
April, my kids swam in the outdoor pool, while the hot-tub was a magnet
for the kid-less set. This property, the Northstar at Stoney Creek, is
managed by Whistler Chalets;
prices start at approximately $160 per night for 1-bedrooms, $270 for 2 bedrooms, during
the winter season-- higher in February and March. Free
shuttle buses run constantly, to take you from your lodgings to the
gondolas.
Can
you spot those subtle golden arches? Next door is a sushi establishment, and on
the ground floor, the video rental joint. All the comforts of home...
A
nearby mini-mall, Marketplace Centre, has a well-equipped grocery store and
an
un-MacDonald's looking MacDonald's!
This
mini-mall is on the outskirts of the car-free village, where you can walk to
over 300 shops and restaurants. The walk is pleasant but considerable: take a
stroller for little ones. Other
areas of Whistler offer ski-in/ski-out townhomes, and deluxe home rentals; and
of course there are hundreds of hotel rooms in Whistler Village, most with
kitchen facilities. To arrange accommodation at Whistler, visit the Tourism
Whistler or Whistler-Blackcomb
websites and check the many options: homes and chalets, hotels and lodges,
bed-and-breakfasts, inns,
etc. Or call 1-800-WHISTLER or 1-888-284-9999.
